helping you choose the right telecom company
On July 29th 2009, Ofcom published a statement, after a lengthy consultation process, as part of its review of Quality of Service information. The statement outlined the decision to withdraw the current QoS scheme (Topcomm) with immediate effect. This decision reflects the opinions of stakeholders and consumers responses to the consultation, which showed that the current scheme had not fulfilled its original purpose - to provide meaningful comparison data amongst communication providers and the fixed voice services they provide.
Bearing this in mind Ofcom have left the decision whether to publish data for Q1 and Q2 (Jan – June) with each Communication Provider. Therefore a lack of data for companies previously listed here in no way indicates that these companies have failed either the accuracy or comparability requirements for the scheme.
Please feel free to have a look at the Ofcom website for more detailed information on the revoking of the current TopComm QoS Scheme, and any future plans Ofcom may have to replace the scheme: http://www.ofcom.org.uk/consult/condocs/topcomm/statement/
